Information Technology (IT) Helpdesk Technician

Choice Schools Associates, located in Wyoming, MI, is seeking a service-minded and detailed Information Technology Helpdesk Technician to support our Central Office Team. This position's primary responsibilities include providing support for computers, phones, printers, and other technical needs for our organization. This position will be a tremendous asset to the Central Office team by supporting the following essential needs:

  • Provide support for all technical-related needs including computers, phones, internet, software, etc.
  • Proactively resolve issues for the staff via phone, in-person, or online.
  • Provide basic to intermediate user training to company staff.
  • Manages and supervises day-to-day operations of the help desk.
  • Train new users on network protocols including email, security, and how to store documents.
  • Order new equipment as needed or determined by the CFO and maintain an accurate record of central office technology.
  • Manages email address books and distribution lists (MailChimp and Google), new staff email, and email signature setup; including smartphones.
  • Organization of network drives and help train staff.
  • Work with scheduling network consultants as determined by the CFO.
  • Enter work tickets for jobs assigned to the helpdesk and IT consultants.
  • Carry out IT/network projects as identified by CFO.
  • Manage computer hardware, supplies, phone system, voicemail, and cell phone inventory as needed.
  • Assist with workstations when employees switch offices.
  • Manage network accounts, assure that new staff are added and terminated in a timely manner
  • Manage all Zoom requests and recording management.
  • Assist with website updates, including staff changes, school calendar updates, ADA compliance needs, etc.
  • Manage technology and computer program software contracts such as Adobe, Verizon Wireless, Java, Google, Microsoft, and all other related contracts.

Qualifications for this role include:

  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Associates degree or 3+ years managing and supervising helpdesk infrastructure and personnel or related field.
  • Excellent computer skills, troubleshooting experience, and ability.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google applications.
  • Experience fixing MacBooks, PCs, iPads, and Chromebooks.
  • Experience with WordPress.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Ability to be self-directed and work independently.
  • Demonstrated ability and experience in managing confidential information appropriately.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and use the software.
  • Ability to physically pick-up and install computer equipment.
  • Able to perform computer training effectively in groups or individually at all levels of user experience.
  • Good troubleshooter; analytical thinker.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
