The Choice Schools Associates Communications Team is looking to add a graphic designer to its dynamic team! We are looking for a highly creative, self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment. As the team's graphic designer, you would be working directly with the marketing team members, developing print and digital materials for Choice's central office, as well as promotional materials for all 16 schools that Choice Schools serves. Design projects include everything from traditional advertising (billboards, print advertisements, fliers) to digital design (social media campaigns, email marketing campaigns, website graphics) to branding (PDFs, presentations, signage, promotional materials). Key responsibilities and outcomes:

  • Manage the design, strategy, art direction, and overall execution of visual content 17 unique brands, 16 school brands, and one corporate brand.
  • Conceptualize new design strategies that support and align with communication plans for recruitment and retention campaigns.
  • Develop and execute an overarching brand/creative strategy for the schools and organization, and oversee the production of all materials related to that strategy.
  • Ensure design continuity and brand integrity across all marketing incentives for the purpose of furthering the schools' visual brand and purpose.
  • Act as a contributing member of the communications team who adds value to the marketing strategies and plans.
  • Design print materials (brochures, fliers, billboards, etc.) and digital content (social media images, website content, digital advertising, email graphics, etc.) Real past examples include: designing two-sided postcards for print; creating graphics for social media highlighting teachers and staff; illustrating a story for our bi-monthly newsletter; creative visuals for our HR team annual SMART goals; designing billboard campaigns for teacher recruitment
  • Maintain an online archive that includes photos, school and district logos, and images optimized for website use, social media use and other platforms for the purpose of greater efficiency and organization.
  • Create event print and digital invitations, graphics, materials and collateral.
  • Design and coordinate school signage, including roadside signs, internal signage and building signage.
  • Brand documents for a variety of departments including, curriculum, HR, operations and business development.
  • Create appealing emails for internal and external newsletters and announcements, including motion graphics, banners, headers, and much more.
  • Research and maintain strong relationships with vendors for print materials across the state.
  • Manage school apparel sites, order promo materials that build school pride.
  • Keep current with best practices of the multimedia/graphic communication profession and maintain contact with appropriate professional organizations for the purpose of maximizing the results of our work and meeting objectives.

What we need from you:

  • 0-2 years experience in graphic design and branding (recent graduates with internships will be considered)
  • Proficient skill level in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Acrobat)
  • Understanding of typography, color, composition, and concept
  • Knowledge of preparing artwork for digital and print design
  • Experience with Wordpress and Web Design is a plus
  • Experience using MailChimp or other email marketing services is a plus
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with others; an open-minded approach and a willingness to adapt/change designs based on feedback
  • Understanding school budgets and marketing plans

  • Dependable, punctual and honest
  • Team player, but willing to take ownership when necessary
  • Ability to contribute to marketing ideas and planning
  • Ability to take direction from multiple people and determine project priorities
  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design or related field

Work environment:

The work environment is in a standard office setting including standard office equipment. The noise level in the work environment is usually low. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit, use hands for fine manipulation, handle, and reach with hands and arms using a keyboard and video display terminal. The employee is required to walk, stand, stoop, kneel and crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
